James Staggs

James Staggs C.A.D.C. started turning addiction lives around beginning in 1995 in Orange County, California. Beginning as a counselor in the adolescent program, James’ dedication and ability to motivate adolescents to recover from their addictions prompted his growth into the Case Manager and Lead Counselor roles for the program.

In 1996, James continued to help suffering people recover from addiction through the Tough Love Groups, as well as his part-time role in a residential adult program in Orange County, CA.
Continuously honing his ability to understand the roots of clients’ addiction, as well as helping them successfully overcome their diseases, James became a Clinical Director, supervising over 20 staff members and the treatment for a 50 bed adult facility. Working hand-in-hand with clients and their families in all aspects in the journey of treatment, James has helped countless individuals successfully embark on the road to recovery.

It is with deep enthusiasm and passion that James founded JastaPlace Services, Inc., an adult treatment program located in the greater Palm Springs, California area. Dr. Janik (Consultant)

Andrew Janik, M.D. is an esteemed board certified Psychiatrist who specializes in Addiction Psychiatry. As a founding member of the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry, Dr. Janik has led the research for addiction and recovery treatment, and he is also certified by the American Society of Addiction Medicine.

Dr. Janik’s breakthrough research pioneered the treatment of patients who suffer from addiction and coexisting psychiatric disorders. His recognition of the importance of dual diagnosis treatment, which synergizes detoxification with therapy of psychiatric and addictive disorders, has helped numerous patients regain healthy lives. In 1989, Dr. Janik founded the first hospital based program that clinically treated dual diagnosis addicts in the Palm Springs area.

Appearing frequently in national media and working as a psychiatric consultant to chemical dependence programs, Dr. Janik’s passion and expertise can be seen in the positive lives his formerly addicted patients now live. Recently, Dr. Janik was the Medical Director of Psychiatric Services at the Desert Regional Medical Center, and he currently serves as the Medical Director of Outpatient Services at Hi Desert Medical Center.

He continues his research in pioneering in-depth understanding and treatments of addiction, specifically the psycho-pharmalogical treatment of addicted patients with complicated mood and anxiety disorders. In addition, Dr. Janik, under the provision of the Drug Enforcement Administration, provides clinical Buprenorphine detoxification treatment to patients addicted to opiates.
